Should I thank my internship firm for giving me the opportunity to play with Windows Vista? Haha. I started my internship 3 days ago, and the first thing they asked me to do (I assume it was because I wrote “excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office” in my resume) was to do some Excel work. Like, VBA. Haha. And so they chucked me to the back of the office with their brand new laptop and got me off to work. And so I’ve been staring at Excel the past 3 days, and at the same time have camwhored using the webcam, surfed the net, checked my email, checked my grades, chatted online and all done illegally. Haha. The temptation to stone is just too much, although I really have done a good job at the work they’ve given me, and probably in less time than they have expected. Haha. And I need to gain good karma because I’m asking for a 2-week reduction in my internship period.
The audit firm that I am in is really damn small. The clients they handle are even smaller, so much so we don’t need to go to our clients’ place to audit, but they send their documents for us to check! And just about everything’s done manually — I’m not far off when I say that the computers there are only there to print the forms out, so that they can be filled in manually. And that’s exactly what my 3 other fellow interns are doing. And from what I’ve heard, it’s really bad. Haha, primarily because we’ve been pushed to do the whole audit by ourselves, and so there’s the learning curve to climb. And tomorrow, I will be joining them because I’ve completed the Excel stuff. Which means I won’t get to use the laptop. Haha. Damn! =) Haha, the only thing great about the internship is that the office hours are regular and there’s simply no reason for us interns to stay beyond office hours. And of course there’s the higher-than-average pay.
14 weeks more. Haha. I’m starting the serious shit tomorrow, and I wonder how long I can take it. =)
