I don’t get it. I just don’t. How can my discman (affectionately known as Jane) be fully charged (according to the indicator) but the moment I remove the power and press play, the indicator screams Lo Batt as if I’m the friggin’ person at fault here. It’s been the case for a number of months already. The amount of effort I need to make sure my discman charges fully is just appalling lah. To think I decided on a Sony discman because the brand was reliable. And I can only depend on the rechargeable battery — the fancy thing they provide that allows you to use a normal AA-sized battery as a backup source ceased to work quite some time ago. Bloody hell.
Enter the Samsung YP-S5.
The successor to the popular Samsung YP-K5, it sports a slimmer and smaller profile, retains its coolness factor and it’s not a Sony/iPod. Reviews have generally been positive but I guess for a fuss-free person like me, I’m pretty happy with its design and its speakers (how cool is that?!) Ever since I decided I was going to get an mp3 player soon (few weeks back) I have re-ripped all my CDs into higher-quality ones. So essentially I’ve been rotating between downloading Jap Dramas and ripping CDs. =)
So I’m going to join the cool club. The problem is when though. First of all, I have no idea how much it costs in Singapore. Haha. Easily solved problem. But yeah, I keep facing the perennial reluctance to spend any amount of money. I think I will get it soon though. I initially convinced myself that I could wait till year-end when I get myself a new phone, but I just discovered that my Nokia 5300’s music player’s a little screwed — there’s skipping in my mp3 tracks for no reason at all. So much for being a music phone, heh. It isn’t a priority by any means, at least considering the immensely packed schedule I’m going to have for the next two weeks.
Soon though. Soon. Because the more I look at my discman, the more I just wanna smash it into pieces.
