In a little more than 25 hours, Convocation 2006 would have ended, and I will be involved in Exercise Kio Sai. It has been an amazing four months, in fact, exactly 4 months ago when Karen invited me to join the Convocation committee as Marketing Manager. These 4 months have been rather eventful, starting off nicely with a retreat, followed by weeks of rushing out designs (with David) for the logo and the bookmark. A period of lull, before a bombshell dropped, and we had to come up with a design for a new logo. Tiresome would be the apt word to describe that period, and I really have to thank David for shouldering the workload when I couldn’t help.
Things have been consistently busy since (quite unlike what I had envisioned in my dreams, but then again, they were too idealistic =) and I’ve been pushed to increasing levels of professionalism. Haha, the whole synergistic qualities of being in a team really showed, and I’m glad that Geraldine, Ford and the rest never wavered when it came to forcing us to come up with quality work. I’m really proud of the work I’ve done!
Along the way, of course came knowing the rest of the Convocation Student Team. I’ve got to know many new friends, and good ones in fact. People who I can chat with the whole day, or indulge in scandalous nonsense together. Haha. I’ve also come to appreciate that most of the people in the team are from the ACF side of the school, and there are so many things to learn from their art. Perhaps life in ACF beckons after Ultimate Frisbee. Heh.
My job as Marketing Manager is done as of a few days ago, when I finished some stuff for Lian. A pity that I can’t really help the rest in the rehearsals these few days (with my frigging finance exam in another 15 hours!), but I’m sure the rest know that I’m there for them. Why so? Because of the little thing that I sent to them — a motivational poster of sorts.
