Haha, the whole thought of simply being at SAF Yacht Club (Changi) for a 3D/2N stay is just so darn irresistable. That’s the way life should be! Met David in school for the bus, and slowly we saw the rest of the sub-committee streaming in, some of whom we have never met before. Of course, there was also Michelle and Shane, and we happily took the bus down to Changi. Haha.
The first night ran by quite quickly, since it was simply a formal session of games (ironic? haha) and a first meeting to explain what this year’s Convocation was about to the committee. The meeting set the trend for the rest of the retreat lah, always moving quite slowly, since half the time someone will get distracted and make some stupid joke and everyone will sidetrack. Well, we had all the time in the world! The mix in the crowd was simply fabulous, filled with all sorts of entertaining people. Haha.
The second day was filled with more ‘productive’ meetings, as we went more into the details for the event and who we were working with. There was even a presentation of sorts to OSL staff Alan, Lena and Shirley, apparently our biggest bosses. Haha, as David and I kept presenting our ideas to everyone, I can only appreciate more and more the presence of David. I simply wouldn’t have the ability to design the logo lah, but now that the logo is mostly done, I can concentrate on what I do best — layout! The dateline’s kind of pressing though, but what the hell. Just sacrifice a little sleep lor. Haha. Lunch was fantastic, with venison, fish, sotong, curry chicken and vegtables alongwith fried rice. Haha, fate had it that most of the big eaters were in the other table (which was full), while Michelle and I were left to finish up the food at our table! Man, it’s been a long time since I’ve eaten so much food. If not for time and the fact that the people at the other table were eyeing our food, I would have eaten even more lah. Haha, I better gain weight I tell you.
BBQ dinner was also nice, with lots and lots of lamb chop and beef. As usual, I didn’t eat much, with oil and everything being quite the turn off. Haha. Then the election results were on, and for 3 hours we were in a room staring at the darn television. Interesting results, but I suppose fair enough. I thought that Chiam See Tong and Low Thia Khiang deserved their victories in what has been a pretty scandalous round of elections. Will I get to vote in 2011? Hmmmm.
Woke up very sleepy on the third day. Of course lah, having slept at 3am playing silly card games for two nights in a row. The day itself was quite short, but somehow it seemed to drag on and on. In fact, there wasn’t much time for any post-event games of sorts, as the bus came right on the dot to fetch us. From school we went to BK before leaving for home.
Man, I’m damn tired. Haha, I shall have a sleep before working on the design. Dateline is tomorrow!
