A Christmas Carol

Posted 23/12/05 15:43 by fang under Life.

I went to redeem my 2 free tickets for A Broadway Christmas Carol last night at The Arts House. Come on, of all the shows I could redeem, of course go for the one that’s most worth it! $39 per ticket! This is what I call Bashito! But I watched it with the dynamic duo Ruping and Jiaqi. Which meant I paid for the extra ticket. Well, not so economical anymore. =(

We entered late, as Jiaqi came late thanks to this terrible taxi driver. $17 from Bedok to City Hall! How the hell did that happen! The darn uncle only took $13 from her, but even then it’s damn over-priced lah. Haha, she was so pissed. =) Anyway, we didn’t really miss much, and entered just as Scrooge “saw” Jacob Marley. At least we didn’t miss the 3 ghosts! The musical was very intimate and hilarious, in just a small room and Gerald Chew, Cheryl Miles, Tan Shou Chen and Babes Conde made full use of it, using their props to great effect. Hell, I thought they would even start a Christmas game with the audience! I thought the script was very well-written, and I really should watch more musicals. The Arts House looks like a nice place to start! =)

Haha, it was nice seeing Ruping and Jiaqi again. Let me declare it right now — they are simply the most comical best buddies that I know. I’m content just being in their company, watching them with their impeccable chemistry and crazy humour. I would join in too, but my Chinese ain’t up to scratch. =) I don’t even know if we’re considered close. Well, St John brings people of different types altogether, and I guess the important thing is we’re comfortable with each other.

Cheer up, Ruping! If anything, my wish this Christmas is for me to see you happy. And stay happy!
